A Closer Look at the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R

The appearance of the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R left little doubt on the plans of Kawasaki to bring back a classic on the road. What makes this new ride outstrip its predecessor is that instead of using the same ancient technology, a newer and far better engine design and upgrades have been installed to make the Ninja ZX-6R to be a really sweet ride whether you are on a track or cruising around the streets.

Giving the Ninja ZX-6R a closer look is a must if you want to understand what makes it a worthy choice on the road.

  • Engine – The architecture of the Ninja ZX-6R is still the same meaning it has the same liquid cooled four engine like its predecessors. There are changes though such as the piston stroke upgraded to 45.1mm giving the bike a 37cc increase in terms of displacement. The engine’s fuel injection uses only four injectors for better dispersal of fuel compared to eight injector design. You can expect better engine performance with the Ninja ZX-6R even at a low rpm.
  • Drivetrain – The Ninja ZX-6R drivetrain received some upgrades too like the clutch system that came from Fuji Chemical Company. The clutch’s simple design helped shave off a few pounds off the bike while at the same time give its rider a much lighter pull.
  • Chassis – The chassis, swingarm and the frame of the Ninja ZX-6R remain the same. The castor angle is the only improvement made on the design where it was reduced to 23.5 degrees. Superb handling has always been a trademark of Kawasaki so you can expect the same with their new bike.
  • Brakes – This isn’t much of an issue with the Ninja ZX-6R especially when new calipers were installed. The monobloc-style calipers make it easier for the brakes to work while giving the rider a lighter feel when testing the braking power of their new ride. Combine this with top performing road tires and you will be driving smoothly even on tight corners.
  • Electronics – You have two options when it comes to the power mode of Ninja ZX-6R. You can choose between going Full or Low. Full power means you will have access to the ZX-6R’s maximum engine capabilities while Low is more on reaching the maximum engine efficiency at a certain limit only which is 8000revs.

Appearance – As for the design of the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R you will notice that the air intake design has been made larger and the front fairing is set at a sharper angle to help reduce drag and offer adequate protection to the rider. The lighting systems and turn signals have been improved as well giving you better visibility at night.
